St. Paul's Mission of India is the missionary arm of the Malankara Jacobite Syrian Christian Church. Dedicated to the vision of 'Evangelizing India', we share the Gospel across the nation while upholding the traditions of our mother Church. Guided by the Great Commission (Matthew 24:14), we strive to reach every village and heart with the message of Christ's love, committed to this divine mandate until His return.
The Great Commission Continues
Jesus told His disciples: "Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit" (Matthew 28:19). In obedience to this divine command, St. Thomas reached India with the Gospel nearly 2000 years ago. Yet, even after two millennia, the Gospel has not reached every corner of this vast nation. St. Paul's Mission of India was established to continue this sacred work, carrying the light of Christ to those who still dwell in spiritual darkness.
Our Founding: A Divine Calling
Founded on May 26, 1994, St. Paul's Mission of India emerged from the continuous prayers and faithful perseverance of a few men who were divinely guided by God. What began as a small prayer group has, by God's grace and mercy, grown into a vibrant missionary organization serving across 21 states of India and Nepal. As the sole missionary organization of the Malankara Jacobite Syrian Christian Church, we are committed to honoring our mother church with all due respect, while also extending fellowship and cooperation to other churches and organizations that share our vision and mission of spreading the Gospel.
Building Places of Worship
In His great mercy, God has given us a sacred role in this great task, for which we adore and praise Him continually. The Mission is always ready to provide facilities for gathering and worshipping the Lord for those who have accepted Him. We have already established 16 permanent churches and many temporary worship centers across India, creating sacred spaces where new believers can gather to worship, grow in faith, and be discipled. While our primary aim remains the preaching of the Gospel of Christ, we also recognize our responsibility to provide for the physical and spiritual needs of those we serve, ensuring they can live lives that honor God. Yet our prime objective remains unchanged: 'Evangelizing India'.
Our Mission Fields: From Humble Beginnings to Nationwide Impact
In September 1996, we started our first mission field at Attappady, a tribal village in Palakkad district, Kerala. This humble beginning marked the start of what would become a nationwide movement. The second field was opened at Panathur, a small village in Kasaragod district in 1997, followed by our third field at Hulluhalli in 1998. Today, by God's faithfulness and the dedication of our missionaries, we have established more than 400 mission stations across 21 states of India and Nepal. Through this sacred work, thousands upon thousands have come to accept Christ as their Lord and Savior, experiencing the transforming power of the Gospel.
Serving the Unreached and Underserved
Our missionaries serve in Indian villages and remote areas where the Gospel has not yet reached, while another dedicated group works in parishes across India, strengthening existing congregations and calling them to true repentance and spiritual growth. The main aim of this ministry is to preach the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ in its true form, without compromise or dilution. The Mission primarily works among those who are illiterate and poor, enriching them with the Gospel and giving them the opportunity to know the Truth and live lives that please God. As the Scripture declares, "The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light" (Isaiah 9:2).
Bringing Light to Darkness
Providing true light for those who dwell in darkness has been the aim of this ministry since its beginning. We have been drawing people out of evil customs and harmful traditions, bringing their lives into the mainstream of society, and helping them hold fast to Jesus Christ. For all those who are burdened for the millions who die without Christ, we ask that you remember this ministry in your prayers. Understand and know that you are also part of this ministry through your prayers and support. As the Apostle Paul wrote, "How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, who bring glad tidings of good things!" (Romans 10:15).
Looking Back: God's Faithfulness Through the Years
As we reflect on more than three decades of ministry since our founding, we stand in awe of what God has accomplished through this humble mission. When we look back, we cannot help but marvel at the unceasing love and mercy that the Lord has showered upon us since the very beginning. We are deeply grateful to all those who have supported and prayed for us—individuals, fellowships, and churches—who have been partners in this great work. The Mission gratefully remembers and thanks each one who has contributed to this ministry through prayer, financial support, and encouragement.
Looking Forward: Our Unwavering Commitment
As we look forward, we recognize that there will be many hurdles and sufferings ahead. But no matter what happens around us, no matter what changes come in the world—political or social—no matter who stays or leaves, we will keep doing what He has asked us to do, what He showed us through His life. Because it is He who died for us on the cross, it is He who loves us, and it is He who told us that He will come back for us. Our commitment remains steadfast, for we serve a faithful God who has promised, "I am with you always, even to the end of the age" (Matthew 28:20).
Our Hope and Prayer
"Thus far has the Lord helped us" (1 Samuel 7:12). Because of His holy guidance, we have reached this point in our journey, but we recognize that we still have a long way ahead of us to tread. Only through prayer and staying together in unity can we complete this great task. We are confident that India will be transformed by the power of the Gospel in the near future—this is our hope and our prayer. We invite you to join us in this vision, to partner with us in prayer and support, as together we press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. May God bless us all. Amen.

Administration
Our mission is led by a 13-member Executive Committee—including the President, Vice President, and Coordinators—elected by the General Body. Meeting monthly for prayer and strategic planning, this body seeks divine guidance to steer the ministry, reflecting the wisdom that "in the multitude of counsellors there is safety" (Proverbs 11:14).
From a humble prayer group, we have grown into a vibrant force of over 80 missionaries and 45 field representatives serving across 21 states and Nepal. Our ministry extends beyond evangelism to comprehensive charity—supporting the marginalized through vocational training, health initiatives, and education, while equipping future leaders through missionary training.
Proclaiming Word and Deed
While evangelism is our primary calling, true ministry touches the whole person—spirit, soul, and body. Following Christ's example (Acts 10:38), our work integrates compassionate service with the Gospel, reaching people across all backgrounds. Our holistic approach ensures the message of salvation is both heard and seen. For a detailed overview of our charitable initiatives and specialized ministries, please visit Our Work page.
